Ενεστώτας (enestótas) = Present à Τώρα γράφω την άσκηση (tóra gráfo tin áskisi) = I’m writing the exercise now. |
Αόριστος (aóristos) = Past simple à Χθες έγραψα την άσκηση (xthes éghrapsa tin áskisi) = I wrote the exercise yesterday. |
Παρατατικός (paratatikós) = Past Continuous à Χθες έγραφα την άσκηση για πολλές ώρες (xthes éghrafa tin áskisi ghia polés óres) = I was writing the exercise yesterday for many hours. |
Μέλλοντας Συνοπτικός (mélodas sinoptikós) = Future Simple à Αύριο θα γράψω την άσκηση (ávrio tha grápso tin áskisi) = Tomorrow I will write the exercise. |
Μέλλοντας Συνεχής (mélodas sinehís) = Future Continuous à Αύριο θα γράφω την άσκηση συνέχεια (ávrio tha gráfo tin áskisi sinéhia) = Tomorrow I will be writing the exercise continuously. |
Παρακείμενος (parakímenos) = Present Perfect à Έχω ήδη γράψει την άσκηση (ého íthi grápsi tin áskisi) = I have already written the exercise. |
Υπερσυντέλικος (ipersidélikos) = Past Perfect à Πριν κοιμηθώ, είχα γράψει την άσκηση (prin kimithó, íha grápsi tin áskisi) = Before going to sleep, I had written the exercise. |
Μέλλοντας Συντελεσμένος (mélodas sidelesménos) = Future Simple à Μέχρι αύριο θα έχω γράψει την άσκηση (méhri ávrio tha ého grápsi tin áskisi) = By tomorrow I will have written the exercise. |
As you notice, there are 8 tenses to refer to the present, the past and the future. We know that with a first look they might seem difficult, but look at the verb: it slightly changes through the tenses!
