Czasy przyszłe: prosty i ciągły

Kolejny wtorek, kolejna porcja gramatyki! Dzisiaj opowiemy Wam o różnicy pomiędzy czasem przyszłym ciągłym i prostym.

Απλός Μέλλοντας (aplós mélodas) = czas przyszły prosty

  • Αύριο θα πάω στο κομμωτήριο (ávrio tha páo sto komotírio) = Jutro pójdę do fryzjera.

Συνεχής Μέλλοντας (sinehís mélodas) = czas przyszły ciągły

  • Από αύριο και κάθε Δευτέρα θα πηγαίνω στο κομμωτήριο (apó ávrio kie káthe theftéra tha pighiéno sto komotírio) = Od jutra będę chodzić do fryzjera w każdy poniedziałek.

  • όλη μέρα (óli méra) = cały dzień
  • όλο το Σαββατοκύριακο (ólo to savatokíriako) = cały weekend
  • συνέχεια (sinéhia) = stale
  • από αύριο (apó ávrio) = od jutra

…z pewnością należy użyć Συνεχής Μέλλοντας!

Another Tuesday, another grammar rule! Today we will clarify the difference between Future Simple and Future Continuous in Greek.

Απλός Μέλλοντας (aplós mélodas) = Simple Future

We use it to describe an action that will happen in the future for a short period of time, for a while:

  • Αύριο θα πάω στο κομμωτήριο (ávrio tha páo sto komotírio) = Tomorrow I will go to the hair salon.

We can’t use Future Continuous here because we will go to the hair salon only once.

Συνεχής Μέλλοντας (sinehís mélodas) = Continuous Future

We use it to describe an action that will be happening in the future for a long period of time, continuously:

  • Από αύριο και κάθε Δευτέρα θα πηγαίνω στο κομμωτήριο (apó ávrio kie káthe theftéra tha pighiéno sto komotírio) = From tomorrow and each and every Monday I will be going to the hair salon.

Here, we can see clearly that the action will take place several times in the future.

Top secret! If you see any of these words and phrases:

  • όλη μέρα (óli méra) = whole day
  • όλο το Σαββατοκύριακο (ólo to savatokíriako) = whole weekend
  • συνέχεια (sinéhia) = continuously
  • από αύριο (apó ávrio) = from tomorrow

…be sure that it will be Συνεχής Μέλλοντας!

However, keep in mind that generally we mostly use Simple Future to the refer to what we will do tomorrow, the next day etc. (if this action is not going to be consistent).
